Default TDK withdraws from CD/DVD mfg.

Sad news. Just came across this today.

I've had very good results with TDK media. Sad to see these cheap no-name crap brands causing headaches for these guys.

Sad indeed. I've always used their stuff since cassette days.

Real sad to hear that such great brand in recording media are succmbling to competition.
Hope they are moving on to some other more profitable projects or recording media and not packing up for good.

acherly i tink it's just a brandname only, cos if u were to use the CD/DVD writer read the ATIP info on the TDK blanks, 3rd party OEM names (eg, Fornet, Ritek, etc) are used in making the dyes.

there's still Taiyo Yuden and Mitsubishi Chemicals for blanks

Actually, TDK isnt good anymore for media. The dyes for the current batches arent really good. I import my media from the states, original taiyo yuden stuff
