Yuanmou Soil Forest was located 214km away from Kunming, Yunnan Province of China. The landscape was formed 150,000 years ago.
Last year, movie director Chen Kai Ge shot his movie The Promise (无极) here, and later director Zhang Yi Mou came here to shoot his movie Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (千里走单骑). And now, more people know about this place, not just because of Yuanmou Man, but also its magnificent landscape. Share with all some pix that I turned them into b&w. Appreciate your comments. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by CKW; 9th March 2006 at 09:31 PM. |

Nice landscape series. The sky is outstanding as u added contrast to it on PS.
Try posting in Circle of Light forum. U will get more feedback on the series since it's a B&W forum. The website is at www.ecircleoflight.org |

Nov - Mar is best, less rain and temperature is just nice. Apr - May is too hot, but lots of blue sky. PM me if you need more info. ![]() |

lovely shots, 2nd last is my favourite.
spotting quite a few blown highlights though, and i cant help but wonder how these shots would've looked with a film camera and A Adams' zone technique |

Well, if someone can use a film camera and shoot this place and share with us, that will be great... ![]() |
