Default Tokina and Angenieux

Hi,

Decided to do some search on this, since I heard that the Tokina AF 28-70 f/2.6-2.8 was/is/based on the legendary Angenieux 28-70. This is interesting:-

I've also heard -- again, I don't know how true it is -- that Tokina was
founded by a couple of Nikon lens designers who left Nikon to start their
own company.

And yup, that seems to be true.

Tokina is the newest of the big three (Tamron, Sigma, Tokina) third party lens makers. Tokina was a startup company formed by some former Nikon engineers who decided to form their own lens making company.
