    Question icecube

I just bought a firewire external storage, and install it with Western Digital hardisk.

    http://www.macpoweronline.com/store/ic1394usb2.htm

I found the drive cannot be detected if I plugged it when WindowsXP is running.
It only can be detected if I plugged and turned it on before turning on my PC.

Anyone has used this device before? Can share any information?

    Thx.

    problem solved

The vendor had installed it with hdd jumper set to "Cable Select"

Set it to "Master" and voila it works like a charm.

Transfered my multimedia files lats night.
From one partition to another (same icecube device) 1.6GB transferred in less than 5 minutes with FireWire connection.

Sorry I didn't time it, but the speed is fast.
I can load n play my Enterprise eps (divx format) directly from it.

Bought about $190 (casing only) @ cybermind SLS, only to found that memory world sold it $50 less during the recent computer expo.
