Hi all medium format users! I've recently tried a Mamiya 645 AFD with Leaf aptus 22 back and the AF seems very slow... well slightly slower than a ZD and I've been looking up on Contax 645 bodies but couldn't find a comparison between the 2 systems. Can any med format users give me some advise which system has a faster AF? Thanks!!

you should look into the AFDII, new version. Three point AF system plus improved AF speed.
Contax is pretty dead, plus the battery life is terrible. nice lenses though.if you can live with the 1/90s sync speed. |

if you're looking for a fast camera forget the MF...
This is not done for action shoots. The new 645 AFD with Leaf digital back has the almost the same speed as all MF due mainly to the miror size. Digital backs shoot today at max 1.5 fps. My H2 is slightly faster in focusing but still slower that my Canon USM lenses... It depends on what you wanna do with. Good luck. |
