Airbrush offers the most control and you can just apply a light coat and retain lots of surface detail. Remember to thin the paint else cannot spray. Use masking tape to mask out different areas to paint.

Spray cans also can do the job but tends to deposit too much paint. Not much control.

Brush paint is the cheapest. Quite hard to get that even finish. Tends to end up with a thick coat. Spraying with primer first allows more even application of brush paint.

u forget to offer dipping... for eg, Char's Sazabi or Zaku... use spray also hard... so dip into red paint is fastest...

Thats why you need masking tape. Use Tamiya masking tape.... very good and removes without any residue.

Gaffer tapes.... used to tape down cables and other stuff in a production studio. Can be used on cameras too... Good gaffer will not leave residue. But its thick stuff. Not good for models man!

cos if u use gaffer, it will not absorb the airbrush paint, den u remove, u will see 1 line thick color overlap.

use a masking tape (paper) ones are better, they help absorb abit of the airbrush paint, den when you remove, u see a better gradual sharp line.

also, with the paper type, you can cut out shape on it, than on the gaffer... so can isolate a circle area.

if u decide to do, den start with pasting, den spray, wait for it to dry, den remove... simple... do 1 part at a time, can even leave it there do gloss, but dun wait 2-3 days later lor... do within a day... and dun use blower to blow dry, natural air dry best.

See... precisely why I don't wanna go into models. Simply too technical, and the process too long. Even doing darkroom processing doesn't take so much time to produce one picture. I mean, the longest it ever took me was 5 hours in the darkroom for a decent picture lor, and not days...

Sazabi cannot if you wanna do default red scheme ala Char's Sazabi simply because it's too glossy. You need to gloss coat it and if you don't have an even surface, no amount of gloss coat will level out the bumps.

Presently waiting for the flat coat to dry, then another round of weathering before this baby's done.

I am a stickler for original paint schemes, this was done using Gunze's Hy'gogg colour set, airbrushed and then gloss coated before decals were placed.

    Here're the pics.
