thanks guys not exactly perfect yet but something i like to keep

lighting is done with Nikon's CLS, flashlight directed from behind and slightly above the leaf

Wah creative!
I only know to backlit for silhouette never thought about using the leaf as a screen to light up the subject as well. Guess it worked extremely well for this case since the spider already is abit greenish and translucent.. else the green cast wld be weird..

The lighting is very interesting Very well done and creative. The lynx seems to suffer from diffraction. May I know what F value you use? Thank you.

melvyn: yup there's significant diffraction, was using f22, wanted to open up to f13 but not enough depth
