5.00pm + still got very good sun.

Composition wise, I'm not up to grade to give any comments.

Point for discussion, Photo #1:-
My feel, the left side of the photo being in the shadows a tad dark. Can bring up the shadows a little more in PP, and have the trees a little more white.

I did a little of my nonsense with that photo. Brought up the left side shadows and whitened a little more for the trees. Let me know you opinions.

#1 has good composition . I prefer to hv a tad more of the bridge on the right and lesser of
the tree trunk.. just a personal preference.

Hey Lee, 5pm still got hot sun... good weather, but more clouds streaming in from north. Thanks for the suggestions... I did not use noise deduction. Too sleepy during the training.

Thanks for the suggestion, Stan. Not able to include more as the fullerton building is there and it will cut off a bit and looks distracting. haha!

Ahhh Soooo.... that was what you were shooting

It was great meeting up with you that evening, it's always wonderful to be able to meet up and exchange ideas and views with other photographers

I like the composition of #1. It's uncluttered and gives a sense of peace.

#2 is also nice and has possibilities but I'm wondering if a shot from a lower perspective, might have a greater impact?

#3 presents a good place for IR shots, the only issue I struggle with when composing there is that of the ever present cars/tour coaches that will be parked on the left side I ended up composing a vertical shot from a low angle to capitalize on the the lines on the path...you can see my take on this shot here: http://www.pbase.com/deadpixel/image/44056460

The fountain is interesting...gives me an idea to try something if I can borrow a fisheye from someone.

Thanks for sharing these photos...we really must find some time to go for a IR and/or macro shoot

Cheers,
Matt

Thanks. I'm always open for comments and suggestions. I will definately visit the place again, there are lots of angle that I can play with. I shall try your suggestion

Maybe Sunday will be better, as not many cars/coaches.

You're right, we should meet-up again for shooting.

Cheers!

Hi Bobby,

Very nice collection there. Surprising that the evening sun still can produce such good IR effects.

Anyway, hope to try this some time.

Thanks, Francis. Fortunately, Tue's sun is very strong, but some places that I wanted to take are restricted by the shadows of the tall buildings/trees.

Cheers!

Hi there,

First of all, you can use this thread to check if your camera is capable of taking IR pictures. For the Canon 350D, I believe you should be able to do it.

Next, you can read up this thread posted by Max 2.8 on how to do IR.

Mostly, all you will need is an IR filter that is all.

Cheerz.
