Hi Mendis,
I like the #1 and #3, wish the #2 is in portrait. This would be more dramatic( I guess). Cheers. |

And as you asked.... #1: Composition is ok as its a nice and green. But it may be abit to spacious (but that is a preference thing). Can the lens take a closer crop of the little jumper? DOF is also shallow.....cannot see the details of the mouth. #2: Nice angle of the mantis. A little nit is that maybe the antenna could be in the frame...or a PS trick is to clone it off at the tip...as if it end within the frame. #3: very interesting subject. Abit too center and DOF is abit shallow. #4: As mention, this is the fav of the lot. Only nit is the white blob behind, but a good moment capture nevertheless. Just some 2c. Hope you can frankly critic my recent spider shots too....thanks!

Just to add on with tchuanye's comments, D100 on manual, 1/100th, f/22, flash at -0.7 EV. #1 the spider very small. Even with 25mm extension on the 90mm, this is the maximum i could get. #2 My PS skills not so good. hee hee Will try! #3 Very delibrate of me to center it.. Again, damn small bugger, and the tree bark texture I thought, personally, allowed the subject to be centered. ![]() #4 Can PS or not ah? the white blob? |
