All the pros and guru and master welcome share some discussion. Share your technics and ideas.

I am using line eg. path, tracks and side of the lake as a guiding focus focal point for the pictures. I hopes it is correct. I am newbies lah.

Hi Airforce1,

Very nice series. However, not sure if I am right, but it seems that the last photo has a hot spot in the centre or is it because that part is in the shade. Can anyone confirm this.

Hi abdul,

Most of the guys are normally quite busy after the weekend. Just hang on for a while, I'm quite sure that they'll see your request.

But a quick one from me. Looks like they're a bit overbightened in your post processing, a bit washed out, Wonder what your out of cam unprocessed pictures look like. Would you like to post the out of cam and let the guys have a try.

Hi abdul,

I like the angle... I think the images are a bit overexposed. Think Teerex's suggestion is good, care to share the unprocessed pict?

btw, Francis is right... there is hotspot in the pict (i think so)

Cheers!

Actually all 4 have hotspot.
How was the weather condition? Overcast?

Hi Abdul,

Were these from your D100i?

Nice try with the composition techniques. I understand what you're showing here and yes, using straight lines and curves correctly would usually draw people into the photo...however, (forgive my directness) the "flatness" or lack of contrast in these photos sort of cause the lines and curves to "blend" into the photo, reducing their impact. The hot spot, eventhough slight, now gets our attention as your lines and curves lead into them.

There are about a half-a-dozen ways to change this and one of them is to convert the photos to high contrast black and white...I hope you don't mind but I've tinkered with three of your photos (the fish-finder one was a cute idea but the way) to show you what I mean...

(It's a Long Walk)

(Bridge as the focal points)

(By the side of the lake)

This way, you get the lines standing out a little more and the background popping out, which is what your lines are leading the people to.

BTW, to prevent the hot spot, try shooting with a bigger aperture. To capture the maximum depth of field (sharp details) in landscape with a large aperture, use hyperfocal.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Abdul, thanks for sharing your original file... Hope you don't mind me posting/pping your pict. What I did is making the picture more contrast using curves. Hope this work for you.
