I'm using AVG. It doesn't eat memory like Norton and it's free. Get it here:

Never did like Mcffee. When I first use it 12 years ago it couldn't even detect the virus on my computer. I had to use f-prot to remove the virus. Anyway Mcffee could be better now.

McAfee is a nightmare. Doesn't uninstall properly. Leaving a trail of destruction.

Norton - A resource hog and let slip some viruses.

    AVG indefinitely.

    Else, i'd recommend Kaspersky.

yeah using Avast free version too, virus-free too. Think it's either Avast or AVG, both highly recommended

Btw, someone mentioned before that it's good to download other anti-virus programme once in a while to scan your system for any virus that are not detected by one programme. Wondering is it true?

i was using F-Prot and it could detect viruses well but had a lot of problems removing them. its resource footprint was also very low so it was good.

last week i went to buy mcafee after much consideration and its ok though it DID seem to slow my pc down a bit. if you buy the security center thing you can't seem to switch off certain functions! its freaking irritating...so far im kinda regretting.

if i could do it all over again i would go for Kaspersky

Its AVG for me. Get the free version. It's effective, fairly reliable and really "on the ball" updating itself almost everyday when I switch on my PC.

AVG. fantastic. im told HP uses AVG for their servers. it's free, fast, doesnt eat memory like norton and mcaffee, and it's 'no horse run' when it comes to detecting trojans.

else if u wanna pay, i rec pccillin. has the fastest scanning engine, fast updates and its cool!

i've used avast and avg before. both are good but there are the pro's and cons.

avast : i like, but the scanning is pretty slow.
avg : i use to like, but it doesnt detect some viruses. had a few times my com kena infected using avg even if i update.
