Default Some advises for 135mm slide projector and screen

Hi everyone,

hope someone can help me here. My dad is reviving some of his slides that he has in the past and wants to view them. I am hoping to get him a slide projector and screen (if needed) so he can view them as a show during his leisure time.

Any advises?

TIA!

remember to test the bulb, see if its yellow or white, but most likely, a tungsten bulb will never give a white light... unless painted with white translucent spray, but still not white, and also reduces output significantly...

Leica projectors are good.
Kodak projectors are good.

Leica Super ColorPlan lens is excellent for projecting.

Dalite Screens are good.

You can buy "glass" screen or silver screen if the white screen is not ok for you.

Hawko is one of the local suppliers for screens.

Elpa is one of the local specialists in home cinema projection.

I'm also looking around for a slide projector and so far, after doing quite much research on the Net, the Leica projectors (not the P150) have got good reviews especially with the ColourPlan lens. The minimum recommended is the P300, but there's quite a lot of price difference between the P150 and P300 when comparing the prices of the new sets. I am not familiar with the price of used models so can't say how much. Other brands to consider are Braun Multimag series and Kindermann Silent series, if available in Singapore. Quite many articles I have read do not consider Kodak projectors to be good at all. Best is to go down to a camera shop and see if they have some models there for you to play with.

Thanks! Probably get a used Leica P150 with the ColorPlan lens. Seems to cost less than $100 used. As for the screens, silver ones are better? Where would be a good place to get them?

Hi,
I think if you are particular with yellow cast, you can always put a correction filter over it (81A or something like that, don't trust me on the exact filter type).

As for slide projectors, they are quite expensive new. It really depends on the functions you require. otherwise, I would suggest you bargain for a used one. PM me if you require the address of a warehouse garang guni that may have what you need.
