First time taking an air show.... (and definitely non macro)....spend more time looking up than down

there's some chromatic abbarations on the images but they're neverless great images.
man, my chances of getting some good ones are, well good! mine sharing what settings you used? did you use the high speed focusing? |

I used M mode and MF. Tried with the spot focus off, and found the focus not so good for the small F16. So switch to spot, and track the plane and flick AF down to focus....not fast enough though....I guess the Venus II would be faster. I used shutter speeds of >1/500 and adjusted the Apeture accordingly. So about 1/500-800s for speed and F4-5+ for apeture.

That will be able to help you in controlling the shutter speed, and you certainly will be able to capture fast flying air plane better than using M or Aperture priority mode. ![]() This goes the same when capturing Biathlon shots, especially bicycle shots, need to be fast... ![]() |

those who wanna join us.
Meeting place : Outside Tampines MRT Station exit facing DBS bank. Time : 9.45am We have to take a bus and be there by latest 11.15am. The bid bird fly past starts 11.30am. Road heading towards Changi Cargo will slow down a bit. Bus have to stop for police security check. Late comers will have to make their own way there. SMS StanGezt or myself. See you tomorow |
