Where are all the 18-200VR?

I am curious,

2 weeks ago I called up nikon singapore and talked to a very helpful rep. He was positive that stocks of the 18-200VR will be arriving in one weeks time. And he told me that stocks come in every month continuously but gets sold out quickly. He even recommended me 2 shops who he said will be getting the lens this month. He says not all shops will be given lens as supply is very limited.

BUT until now, I still haven't seen any stock comes in. Have anyone bought a 18-200VR in the past 2 weeks?

I am wondering if nikon Singapore is hording the 18-200VR lens for IT show. Maybe bundle it up with a D200 like US.

Maybe it's because the 18-200VR cannot resolve the DR for S3 PRO so you can't find any

I think it is a worldwide shortage...... reading the Nikon forums in Dpreview confirms this. Whenever anyone gets their 18-200VR, it is like the happiest day of the lives

. Demand outstrips supply and looks like it is going to continue for a while until the backlog is cleared. For an 11X zoom, it is very good (don't compare iq with primes la.... primes don't give you much flexibility but better iq, both ways you have compromises)... good user feedback will ensure the strong demand... I am sure Nikon executives are having sleepless nights trying to bridge the demand supply gap.....

Or maybe they keeping till the Great SIngapore Sale.... or maybe Christmas....

Anyway, they also no have the R1 flash system also..... they come out new thing but alway no stock...

Why don't you go to shops like CP and put your name in the queue? They will give you a call when your turn comes.

I think its every enterprise problem and worries, too much stocks not sold will be lost...
