Is there any where that i can find info on the 7D exposure Dynamic range? Would like to know how many stops between shadow and highlight. Is the CCD like a film where there is a shadow and highlight latitude? Thanks

In his book "Dynax/Maxxum/Alpha 5D/7D Digital Cameras", Gary L. Friedman lists the light-capturing ability of several different sensors.

If you are lazy person like me who don't shoot raw, I think 6 to 7 stops is safe if you taking jpeg.

My take is just bracket the shot... after the bracket function is two clicks away on the right hand control dial...
