how many shutter can D70 take?

as title, just wondering normally how many shutter can D70 take before it has to be replaced? and how about a 15k shutter count second hand D70?

1 D70 can only take 1 shutter, 1 shutter can go for about 70~80k shots. IIRC.

Depends. If you use 'C' mode to shoot continuously, I don't think it will even hit 50k before it fails.

it is a rough guide only....it can go higher than that if maintained properly.

No lah.. want to see if the price difference is worth the 15k shutter count or not mah.. My guess is that the D70 shutter should be quite durable since it doesn't need to go above 1/500. Any speed above 1/500 is by electronic shutter.

Don't forget that the D70 is at least 1.5 years older than D70s. Your 4 month old D70s already clock 9k liao, by that rate, a D70 would have clocked more than 28k liao wor! My 8 month old D70s only clock about 4k. Don't anyhow shoot lah! Good then shoot, save a lot of time weeding the images in the PC.

actually is 7000+ 1st 2000 dont count coz shutter unit got prob and i got it changed(under warrenty of course)

i often go to the airport to shoot planes(i know some secret spots along the runway ) 1 saturday afternoon can snap ~400

i set my file naming to continueous when i 1st bought the cam so now my shots r at 9xxx. i think its possible to view shutter count in exif as well?




wat happens when i reach 9999?

Yah, I vaguely remembered that the shutter count is embedded in the exif but I can't remember which viewer is required to view that info.

mine is 31.000+ and still kicking ..Hopefully won't see problem until at least 50.000.
After 50.000, I;m thinking seriously to replace the shutter, before it dies suddenly in the middle of a photoshoot.
