What lens to get from US

Hi all CSers,

Need some advice especially from those who have ordered from places like B&H from US before. I am sure there are some lenses that are cheaper in US (after including delivery charges) while some are more expensive there.

Has anyone did a comparision on what canon lenses are WORTH ordering from US? For eg, if i order 70-200 4L from B&H it costs S$966.95 (lens + delivery) but getting it here costs $1280 from MS color...

all 3 70-200 lenses are cheaper

u'll need to add 4% GST and some "commission" for paying via credit card. it'll still be cheaper for some lenses. perhaps, u'll just want to focus on lenses u need/want, rather than lenses which are cheaper.

its 5% Singapore gst....for items exceed SGD$400

qn.... at B&H website, what is the difference between their US set and the imported set?? Their imported set seems to be cheaper....

US set or Imported set? Maybe it works the same as our electronic item here.....local or export set....the warranty policy is different

I think the imported lenses have only B&H inhouse warranty (sorta like our TCW warranty), not warranty from Canon USA, and don't qualify for rebate programs.

you can shop from eveywhere in USA to vpost USA, i think. I think you're referring to vshop USA, which doesn't include B&H as a retailer...

So I guess you just have to enter the vpost USA address for B&H delivery address rite?

For those who ordered via vpost USA before, can i then say the charges are:

1) Price of 70-200mm 4L lens - US$584.95
2) Delivery charge by B&H - US$12.85 (UPS)
3) Delivery charge by vpost - S$14.88
4) 5% GST

Total = S$1032
(584.95 x 1.62 + 12.85 x 1.62 + 14.88) x 1.05

Actually mpenza mean the credit card charges 4% to the shop if using credit cards from MS color... not including the 5% GST yet...
