Default Need advise about lighting

Here is the problem i face. I want to improve myself learning more about studio lighting. But can't often rent a studio just to use the lighting for experiement or learning purpose. Due to time and money. Even if i take on course, without constant practise my skill sure be rusty again. I thought of buying lighting equipement for my self practise. But is it worth it? What kind of basic lighting can i get with a budget of $1000? Pls advise.. Thank you.

Renting studios isn't necessarily expensive - have a look at these two @ $25/hr

Do a search in Consumer Corner for more...

I think that the people that own/run these studios would be willing to assist and/or answer questions. IMHO you would get more out of a few sessions in a proper studio with some guidance then you want through trial & error on your own. Then you will be better equiped to decide the sort of equipment you want to get for yourself.
