I'm looking for a new lens. Which is better:

hmm i walk arnd asking bout the lens but like most shops dun carry it anymore.. only one shop in SLS called merdeka on first floor has it.. but the salesman like not interested to do business one and then the price not say very good also.. $580 w/o gst.. so in the end i didn't buy..
smtan24 if you happen to come across the lens or if your friend has the lens do let me know =D |

Commonly available on ebay ... especially from prodigital2000 ... around US$300 new.

Image quality is second to none, but focusing is painfully slow... Too expensive as well as compare to 28-75 f2.8 D.... Build quality is one big plus... very heavy too. In sydney, they are A$1600. used to have one, but sold it to someone in CS. Hart |

Seems the Minolta 28-75mm F2.8 (D) is out of production. Guess I'll have to buy either Sigma or Tokina.

i dont think its out of production. try emailing shops for quotes and ask around? post in B&S to look for one?

it may indeed out of production.... for a while, due to the switch from KM to Sony, so they may have to take some time to rebrand/badge to sony
 But it should be available after the transition over.

ebay....cowboy town...anything goes. Luck play a part as well, and how much trust you have on the seller description.
Prodigital2000 is ok, have buy things from them in the past, but they no longer shipped to Singapore. Have e-mailed them and no exception even for past customer.

Called Konica Minolta today. They basically told me they aren't bringing in lens from Japan anymore.
