Heylo. Here's a mediocre pic from me this time
![]() A mediocre pic with an interesting story. I woke up this morning to find this kitty at my doorstep. It seemed to be just waiting for me. I had never seen it before, and up till now I've no idea how it got to my place. It seemed to be a lil hungry so I fed it a little milk and brought it downstairs to be in the company of other cats. Went out for lunch and thought the matter was over, but when I came home it was waiting for me again. I knew that the auntie in the next block would be able to take better care of it, so I brought it to her. She remarked that she'd seen it once at her place before. How it managed to find me is still a mystery. I took this picture before I went out for lunch, didn't have much time to take pix as I spent time tending to it, so I can only produce this one. I believe that caring for the kitty is primary and taking pix of it is secondary. ![]() 7D, Sigma 105mm Macro @f/3.5, ISO 400 1/25. I love the creamy bokeh of this lens. Do comment! And tell me how you think the cat managed to find me. Perhaps it's by peer recommendation? hehe though no cat has ever followed me to my place b4. Cheers QX |

Gorgeous picture, and an equally gorgeous cat. Maybe it's fated that you should keep the cat since it supposedly 'found' you?
![]() There's almost a soft-focus in this picture...very nice. |

Hmm. Weird thing is, I don't keep any cats at my place at all. Eek. Maybe I smell =P
I've heard of a theory that animals utilise the raw data from their senses, unlike humans where our information is filtered and processed before being passed on to our conscious areas. Sth akin to RAW and JPEG So animals are able to perceive more subtle things cos they aren't lost in translation (i.e. thru prejudices assumptions etc). The only disadvantage is that sometimes they can be subject to sensory overload.Well. If they smell niceness about me, I'm honoured =) Cheers QX |

Hahah. Come to think of it, a mum cat gave birth to kitties in my shoe cabinet but got knocked down a few days later. I cared for all 3 of them until they could be given away. Was ard pri3, 9 years ago. Brings back the memories =)

That was nice of you to feed the cat. But hor, don't give them the milk we drink as they will get diarrohea. Only kittens less than 2 months old need milk (and I am talking about cat's milk). That cat looks like it is already weaned. Dry cat food (even the cheap brands like Friskies) and fresh tap water will do very nicely.
Since it always show up at your door step, perhaps you would like to take it in as a pet? I'm sure it will reciprocate and give you lots of love back. |

Chocalates and onions are banned food for cats too.
Actually there is a list of things we should not be feeding cats and dogs, so be careful the next time you feed the stray cat/dog. Extracted from http://www.peteducation.com/article....articleid=1029 Q. Which foods could be dangerous to my pet? A. Some foods which are edible for humans, and even dogs, can pose hazards for cats because of their different metabolism. Some may cause only mild digestive upsets, whereas, others can cause severe illness, and even death. The following common food items should not be fed (intentionally or unintentionally) to cats. This list is, of course, incomplete because we can not possibly list everything your cat should not eat. Items to avoid - Reasons to avoid Alcoholic beverages - Can cause intoxication, coma, and death. Baby food - Can contain onion powder, which can be toxic to cats. (Please see onion below.) Can also result in nutritional deficiencies, if fed in large amounts. Bones from fish, poultry, or other meat sources - Can cause obstruction or laceration of the digestive system. Canned tuna (for human consumption) - Large amounts can cause malnutrition, since it lacks proper levels of vitamins and minerals. Chocolate, coffee, tea, and other caffeine - Contain caffeine, theobromine, or theophylline, which can be toxic and affect the heart and nervous system. Citrus oil extracts - Can cause vomiting. Dog food - If accidental ingestion, will not cause a problem; if fed repeatedly, may result in malnutrition and diseases affecting the heart. Fat trimmings - Can cause pancreatitis. Grapes and raisins - Contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys. Human vitamin supplements containing iron - Can damage the lining of the digestive system and be toxic to the other organs including the liver and kidneys. Large amounts of liver - Can cause Vitamin A toxicity, which affects muscles and bones. Macadamia nuts - Contain an unknown toxin, which can affect the digestive and nervous systems and muscle. Marijuana - Can depress the nervous system, cause vomiting, and changes in the heart rate. Milk and other dairy products - Some adult cats and dogs do not have sufficient amounts of the enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose in milk. This can result in diarrhea. Lactose-free milk products are available for cats. Moldy or spoiled food, garbage - Can contain multiple toxins causing vomiting and diarrhea and can also affect other organs. Mushrooms - Can contain toxins, which may affect multiple systems in the body, cause shock, and result in death. Onions and garlic (raw, cooked, or powder) - Contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are more susceptible than dogs. Garlic is less toxic than onions. Persimmons - Seeds can cause intestinal obstruction and enteritis. Potato, rhubarb, and tomato leaves; potato and tomato stems - Contain oxalates, which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems. This is more of a problem in livestock. Raw eggs - Contain an enzyme called avidin, which decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin). This can lead to skin and hair coat problems. Raw eggs may also contain Salmonella. Raw fish - Can result in a thiamine (a B vitamin) deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizures, and in severe cases, death. More common if raw fish is fed regularly. Salt - If eaten in large quantities it may lead to electrolyte imbalances. String - Can become trapped in the digestive system; called a "string foreign body." Sugary foods - Can lead to obesity, dental problems, and possibly diabetes mellitus. Table scraps (in large amounts) - Table scraps are not nutritionally balanced. They should never be more than 10% of the diet. Fat should be trimmed from meat; bones should not be fed. Tobacco - Contains nicotine, which affects the digestive and nervous systems. Can result in rapid heart beat, collapse, coma, and death. Yeast dough - Can expand and produce gas in the digestive system, causing pain and possible rupture of the stomach or intestines. A long list, hor? |
