I had only the EF-S 17-85mm and the 70-300mm DO lens with me during the trip. Thus, I used the 2 lenses, sometimes with flash.
Yes, if you have similar opportunity at your workplace, you should really take some shots too. It should be a very interesting experience. Sadly, I had to leave before the bird lay the eggs. I was told that till last night the eggs are not yet hatched.

The nest was there, the process was on-going and I had my camera equipment, so can't resist the opportunity. Otherwise, I'm not into bird photography.
Seemed fated for me to shoot it cos' the bird's 3 past attempts were destroyed and it still came back to rebuild the 4th time. And during the 4th attempt, I was there for CNY. Thus suggested that the bird be granted it's wish to build the nest and lay eggs there.
Ulterior motive: So that I can shoot...
(Actually that is the area where clothings are hung up to dry - so you can see why birds are not welcome, esp with bird flu around. What I can't understand is why after its 3 attempts destroyed, the bird still returned to the same place instead of so many other possible places, to build its nest. And why a suspended one which only increases risk? Hopefully some "bird psychologist" can help to enlighten.)

I used to read that turtle will return to nest at the locations where they were born .. maybe this is why she return the 4th time

as for suspensded nest .. i think is the natural habitat of the bird?

As why fighting fish blow bubble nest to reproduce. And why killi fish buried their eggs in the sand.

this wat i can share as a aquatic lover ..
