Default question on slave flash

if i use my slave flash to shoot events with other photogs around me, will their flash trigger my slave flash to fire? will this cause their exposure to be affected? or worse still, will they confront me cos my slave flash keeps on firing?

Slave flash will fire as long as it detects a flash. I have a slave on my Sony compact digicam and it does the same unless i cover the sensor with my hands.

Exposure being affected will definitely have some so remember only use slave flash if you need it, otherwise turn it off.
