Did a BnW series on the Checkers players at Chinatown. I was fortunate enough to encounter the local champ there at the time, which had attracted a bold challenger and a fairly large crowd of retirees.
The general scene ![]() The Crowd - The Challenger is struggling here, the guy with the crew is the champ. ![]() Champ ![]() A rematch ![]() And a sideshow ![]()

Nice series Stoned. This one in particular which shows the crowd add to the anxiety of the moment.

I like the last pic with the man pondering his next move. The fella next to him gazing intently at the board adds to the effect too. Great!
