Default Dragonfly, Butterfly and one Bug~

Pictures taken with only kit lens 18-55mm
Need to invest in a Macro lens ... Any macro lens to recommend?

Hi Jayson,

Good attempts there, I like the last one of the bug, good composition. The other two shots are slightly blur due to either handshake or insufficient DOF.

There are many good macro lens out there, both OEM and 3rd party. For general purpose macro a 90mm or 100mm focal length is ideal. If you have deeper pockets, you can go for the Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro USM. At ard 1k, it has excellent sharpness and colours. If you are on a budget, a cheaper alternative would be the Tamron 90mm f2.8 SP Di Macro lens. (about $560 thereabouts). Image quality comparable to the Canon.
