Thanks cajuca.

I was wondering why my thread in Marco sesson usually don't have much comments. Maybe not good enough or subjects are to common ?

Anyway, I still learning and hope to capture more different subjects. Aiming one fine day I could make full use of my lens to shoot insects in 5:1

Regards

Hi, Darkforce:

See your posting again.

No 12 is interesting.

For the water drops, can see your flash lights. Was expecting the reflection of the outside the world from the drop ....

2 cents.

Hi Darkforce,

Some of the images are sharp. But the dark BG does not work for me. 1 or 2 is ok, but if all is black, than its not so nice. The issue of macro is that its a fine balance between the control. Some aims to get a nice smooth green or other uniform colour BG, and this is a control of shutter and apeture and flash.

Small apeture is required for higher DOF.
So left with shutter. Fast shutter will end up with Dark BG. So have to use slower shutter speed. The flash will than have to be well controlled not to overblown the subject.

Bro,

Excellent shots you have there! Sharp and detailed. I think you are slowly getting the hang of your new toy. Macro needs a lot of practice and patience. My fav is no. 2, the bee in the flower.

I concur with what tchuaneye had mentioned. Try using a slower shutter to get non-black backgrounds, but it would mean you would need to use a form of stable support like tripod or perhaps monopod to get your rig stable. For macro, firm support is a must to get the max detail and sharpness, and especially for for a > 1:1 macro lens like yours.

Good tries though, keep it up! And keep shooting. One day go shoot with you, can?

I didn't expect that MPE65 can be used to shoot insects due to the working distance.

Hi tchuanye,

Thanks for your comments. Will try to see if I could get some non-black BG the next trip I go down again.

Yep. OK. But I will first try slower shuttle speed using handheld to see how far I can go without a tripod. Can take it as arm muscle trainng session too

Will keep trying. Hope to see you again there
