Default Mamiya ZE

Found my dad's decades old Mamiya ZE, now a collector's item.
The lens has fungus in them etc. as it had been unused for years. Would it still be possible to restore it to its yesteryears' glory? If so, where and how much would it cost?

Default Best place to try.

Hi Acieed,

you can try Bally Photo on the 3rd floor of Far East Shopping Centre.

They are one of the few shops who do their own repairs and many other shops actually send cameras they collect for repair there. Try to call before going as the boss, Mr Koh, is the best person to speak to about repairs and assessments.

In case you don't know the building, it is the one next to The Hilton Hotel and not the one next to Scotts Shopping Centre.

If you don't have a phone book, then I will try to find the number for you. He does almost all my repairs and has done so for years.

Regards

How much does it usually cost to clean an old camera+lens? A few hundred?

$150.00 to clean a normal lens? Seems a little steep? I have had quite a bit of work done by Bally and have never incurred this kind of charges. EVER.

Talking Sorry if I set you wrong.

Hi Acieed,

Sorry if I sent you on a wild goose chase.

If they said its too old, it probably means no more support by manufacturer for spare parts.

Please don't be at me, didn't realise that.

Apologies

Rebalf,

Don't worry about it. It's a very camera, and I don't have very high hopes on fixing it.

Recommendations for any shop that may fix it are welcomed.
