Firmware upgrade Dimage A1

i have a dimage a1, with a firmware of 1.02e. i went to the website an saw an update to 1.13e. however, no matter how careful i follow the steps they gave, my A1 just doesn't updates. it keeps going to the normal shooting mode. anyone has the same problem?

did you copy the firmware file into the root folder of your compact flash card? and not into any folders in the compact flash card?

yeah. right into the F:/, but still nothing.

The seems to be quite a gap from your current ver to the latest one. I'm guessing you might need to upgrade to an intermediary firmware in order to update (again) to the latest version. But I think I might be very wrong here.

Maybe can try other memory cards if you haven't?

memory card doesn't seems to be the problem. right now trying to find some earlier versions of the firmware.

If I'm not wrong, there's only 3 firmware releases for Dimage A1.

11.14.2005 DiMAGE A1 Firmware Ver. 1.13
07.05.2005 DiMAGE A1 Firmware Ver. 1.12
12.22.2003 DiMAGE A1 Firmware Ver. 1.02

Here's the ver. 1.12

click on the last line of Read End User Licence ... and on the next page, click I Agree and you should be able to download the firmware.

just a note, if your A1 is Europe version amd you use a US firmware, it won't update. the same for the other way round.

no use. tried the 1.12e, still cannot. anybody actually succesfully updated a dimage A1? can't think of any errors that i might cause.
1. put the 3 files into F:/
2. hold the shutter button fully, then on cam.
3. camera just goes to shooting mode. no updating done!!

switch the mode to replay then switch on cam!!!

haiz. now it goes to playback mode, still without updating done.
