Let's compare Samsung Pro815 and FZ30:
1. Samsung don't have OIS.
2. Price wise, I think Samsung more expensive.
3. Wide angle, Pro815=28mm, FZ30=35mm
4. Memory Pro815=CF, FZ30=SD

Hmmm generally I still prefer Panasonic

pls let me resume where you stopped short (FZ30 specs in brackets)

5. 28-420mm (FZ30 = 35-420mm)
6. 15x optical zoom lens (FZ30 = 12x)
7. 3.5" LCD display (FZ30 = 2" LCD)
8. 2/3" Type CCD (FZ30 = 1/1.8")
9. DNG-RAW output (FZ30 = ? RAW)
10. aperture F2.2 - F4.6 (FZ30 = F2.8 - F3.7)
11. 3cm macro (FZ30 = 5cm)
12. EVF 234k (FZ30 =230k)

Seems spec-wise, the Pro815 is stronger?

Everything is BIG on 815, but is it useable?

Let's see how many it can sell worldwide.

the pro815 doesnt have an OIS which is very necessary for a megazoom camera of its class. look around at other brands like canon's s2, minolta's IS and nikons VR...all of their megazooms have an on board IS technology.

Without IS, using the long end of the zoom is restricted to very bright conditions or when the camera is mounted on a tripod.
well, you can read the rest here
