Hi All,
The real wide angle lens are beyond my budget. I have heard there are wide angle converters and wonders what brands are available that I can fit it on my EFS18-55mm kit lens (and use it on the 18mm focal length). Can you also tell me will auto focus work under normal lighting (i.e. no too dark) with the wider angle convertor attached? Cheers, CMc

I havent heard of a wide angle converter for the EFS18-55mm kit lens and even if there is, putting another lens in front of your existing lens will cause unacceptable image deterioration. There'll most certainly be vignetting and Chromatic Abberation. You'd be well advised to buy a dedicated wide angle lens for your DSLR. I have a wide angle converter I'm using on my P&S Nikon Collpix 995. It works great but Chromatic Aberration is a real problem...
