Seriously... when you're taking shots as these, it's capturing the moment or never, the concentration is on the shot as a whole, not the pole. I don't think if he took the time to recompose, he would have gotten the shot he wanted.

It's easy to criticise and nit pick when viewing the shot, but it's not easy to pick up the shot when such events are fast moving and you don't have time to pose and recompose the shots.

I won't worry about the pole.

I feel that with the pole around, it adds a special meaning to the picture.
"the bride laughing at her friend who looks like she is lifting a pole on her head" -lame =X -

Yes, i totally agree with what espn said.

can't help it MatthewSCL. It's a spontaneous shot, no rehershal, and I forgot to set the camera to multiple mode.

true to some extent, however, spontaneous capture of certain events might be spoiled due to these reasons...

in this shot, (not to nick pick or what), but the pole on the head really bring the focus off the main subject....the catching of the flowers were not very obvious compared to the pole...so in this case, even if you got the moment, i find it still a waste....

with more experience i guess, you can anticipate such moments and have amber time to pre-adjust your angles....

just my suggestions....

Thanks matthew. I agree with you. "Spontaneous" cannot be used as an excuse for bad composition. Thank you for your suggestion, I definitely need to practice more.

yup... i know the PS effects are obvious (probably that's why you said it's unnatural).

Well, I find the picture captures the feeling of the bride at that time, patiently waiting and preparing for the big day. just my own accessment of the picture i took.

will keep learning.
