I realized that my 350D sometimes beeps (no blink) when I perform the focus (beep & blink) then recompose manevour, the subsequent beeps are not acompanied by blinking, and the focusing ring doesn't seem to move either. Is this normal?

??
Not too sure what you are talking about. At least on my copy of 350D when there's a beep (focus lock), there's no blink on the Focus Lock indicator (or whatever you call it). When the Focus Lock indicator blinks, there will be no beep, since there's no focus lock. There's no case where there's a beep yet the Focus Lock indicator blinks (or at least with the settings I'm using it in).Which AF mode are you in? Single-shot, AI Focus or AI Servo? I realized that my 350D sometimes beeps (no red blink) when I perform the focus (beep & red blink once) then recompose manevour, the subsequent beeps are not acompanied by red blinks, and the focusing ring doesn't seem to move either. The blink refers to the flash of red on the focus lock indicator. my English. |

LOL after you lock focus, you shift the camera to recompose, you realise there's no more focusing done? |

If you had a AF lock and you recompose while holding the shutter button still, I don't see why the camera would beep again since it already has achieved focus.

I think your camera is possessed. Heh. Just kidding. Read the manual thoroughly under Focussing. Blinking means its not focussed properly. This usually happens when the AF is pointed at the sky or any flat/low contrast surface. Hope that helps. Cheers!
