Default Signs of flash damage

Hi PLUG ppl,
what are the signs that you camera is damaged by your external flash? My FZ30 now refuse to fire my inherited starblitz 3600 ds after being able to work for nearly a month. Everything about the camera and flash are working separately except it just refuse to fire when I press my shutter.

Please help. Thanks

Hi elcap,

I am not sure if its your external flash that damage your camera. Most likely its the hotshoe that is damage. I have the same problem as you, but mine is most likely due to rough handling. Think the hotshoe connection have something to do with it. Will have to find a day to bring the camera down to service center.

Using FZ20 with emoblitz flash DS328AZ.

I am not sure if the FZ30 is similar to the FZ10/20, but the ext flash activation can be deactivated by depressing the right direction button....it is so for the earlier FZs and sometimes, may cause confusion as accidently press it and hence deactivate it. Do you see a flash cancellation sign in the LCD? Ignore this question, if FZ30 does not have this feature.
