    go to restaurant ember at hotel 1929, but call ahead.

    Vis a Vis is good! Especially the deserts...a little bit pricey but hecks...nice ambience too

    Dinner for 2 will set you back about $75 (appetizers, mains, desserts) not counting wine. I'd recommend the miso cod (sebastian's specialty) and valrhona's or pie with lavender ice-cream. here's their webbie: http://www.hotel1929.com/dining/ember.htm
    you could just ask them for their daily recommendation, they're a real friendly husband-n-wife team, and it's a cosy set-up. it's part of the 1929 hotel, which is in itself an experience. if you're looking at something like valentines dinner, then you'd better make a reservation fast.

    Haha, i've given up on dinner on Valentine's itself. Most likely doing it one week before or after. Thanks for the webbie, the food looks good and the price you mentioned seems reasonable... it almost makes me wanna try both Vis-A-Vis and this restaurant!
