Dear all

I have already contacted a supplier and will be placing an order for the Peleng 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens. However, due to the fact that this lens is made in Russia, i would like to appeal to those who would like to order so as to share the shipping cost. Please note that there will be a warranty period of 1 year.

Abit of Background
The Peleng 3.5/8 mm is one of the few circular fisheye lenses available today. This alone makes it an extraordinary lens but to take this further it is also the cheapest. Depending on the source, you can get it for around 200 US$.
The Peleng is “Made in Belarus”












Compare this with e.g. the Nikon 2.8/8 mm which is only available second hand today. And even the only other non-camera manufacturer lens – the 4.0/8 mm from Sigma – sells for 739 US$ at B&H the last time I checked (the list price is even 1419 US$). OK, there are some even cheaper semi-fisheye adapters but these are real gimmicks only.

You can buy them on eBay brand new for around $354 SGD including shipping.

Yes... i know how terrible is it to crash into someone else's thread. You could have PM me instead. that is exactly what you have done.

My quote of $400 is just to confirm that it will not be below that price. once i get a firm order of a large quantity, i will be able to get bargaining power to reduce the price.

I am truly not earning anything from this MO as once everything is finalise, i will pass on the savings to all those who have ordered.

Please do not post such disturbing information anymore. If you have a better deal, i urge you to post exactly where you can get it at such great prices. I have already searched thru Ebay and the cheapest i can find is USD$200 without adding the shipping cost from russia to singapore. Shipping of such a heavy lens is costly, amounting to almost USD$37 per piece. total cost is US$237 which is S$400.

By all means... please justify for what you have done....

Mass Order Guidelines

I have had some enquires about this lens. Let me post it up so that everyone can see...

Qn: I am currently using a Konica Minolta 5d. May i ask is there a peleng fisheye for minolta mount ?

Ans: Yes you can! You can get a wide variety of adapters available to fit this lens onto your camera lens mount. Please PM me for such a special request, i might be able to get it for you. and of course, you will have to bear the cost of the additional adapter. (around US$20 each)

Qn: Can it be use on SLR and DSLR? There is no auto focus function on tis lens rite?

Ans: Yes it can be used on both SLR, DSLR, and any kind of cameras including medium format, as long as there is a suitable adapter for your camera.

This is a manual focus lens. However, it provides meter coupling to your camera’s exposure meter, so you maintain through-the-lens metering, provided if your camera supports it. The Peleng 8mm lens is a precision optical piece derived from the Russian defense and space technologies. It is ideal for architecture, landscape, and group pictures. The lens’s high-quality multi-coated glass optics provides superb image transmission and sharpness. The Peleng 8mm Fisheye lens is a compact unit, similar to the Nikkor 8mm (4 times more expensive), but for the fraction of the cost.
