Default What is this halo effect in a photo taken with my fx9? Help!

Hi all!

Did any of you experience this halo-esque effect in your photos?
I was at a gathering in a restaurant and the lighting wasn't so good. I left my cam in Auto-iso mode(mistake!) and got a waiter to take the shot for us.

The settings were iso-auto with flash...

Other than this photo, there were couple of other shots taken in the restaurant and it's weird how much the quality can differ! The high iso shots were all quite horrible but there were shots at low iso that came out sharp and crisp. The photos looked like they came from 2 different cameras

Hope some of you experts could shed some light on this! I'm worried if its a defect in my camera... Many thanks in advance!

looks like ghost orbs to me

could be dust particles in the air that reflected back towards the camera.

I experienced this with my previous camera (Canon Ixus 40), so I switched to Panasonic FX9. So far, I have not shot at high ISO (noisy!) and have not seen it on the FX9.

This was a reply I read about these white spots:

The white spot (white shadow ciricle) is cause by floating dust particles in front of the optical unit or subject which appear as out of focus in the image capture.

Hello,

i took many other pics that day, and none of them showed this effect, so i guess its not a problem with my lens. And yes, i was using the flash for many of my pics that night..

May i know what is this flare and out of focus stain on the lens that u are talking about?

Since none of these halos have been replicated in my other photos, is it safe for me to say that there is no problem with my camera?

Have you tried cleaning the Lens? it might be a water particle in your lens.
