Hi ricohflex. It's good to know there are still local people who use film cameras, even made in China.

How's yr camera doing? Do you use it often?

I use it mainly for Street Photography which I find it's the most suitable equipment for the job. I can get real close to my subjects for details and for some quick candid shots as well.

Care to share yr experiences with Seagull 205 RF?

Some of the bands you were starting to listen to, became the "main stream" of the 90s in rock-n-roll context. Grunge was really in during that era. Bands like Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden and especially Nirvana are famous and popular. They all started really early and had been around for as long as 10 years before fame found them. For Nirvana, it's a different story. I'm sure you have read abt it somewhere.

I came to listen to different music genres since I was 12. I first started listening to pop/rap music like Top 40 Billboard with bands/groups like U2, A-ha, Bros, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Wet Wet Wet, Roxette, Level 42, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, INXS, Nick Kershaw, Banarama, New Order, Tears for Fear, Pet Shop Boys, etc. Hahaha... when this genre made a come-back in the late 90s, the industry called it Retrospective and Zouk has their Mambo Jumbo every Wednesday as homage. Still going strong I think.

During my teenage years in the late 80s, Metal Mania was high. I started to listen to Guns N Roses, Poison, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Metallica, Kreator, Warrant, Ugly Kid Joe, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Testament, Mr Big, Firehouse and many more. Even listiening to Death/Thrash Metal like Gorguts, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Sadus. Pretty evil eh?

After my NS, I started to listen to Alternative/Indie Rock, Punk Rock and some local rock bands as well. I even got involved in the local music scene too. It was fun and exciting. Formed a Alt. Grunge band in 1999 and disbanded a year later. Formed another soon and that was where I listened more to experimental stuff.
    wow..thx for sharing your 'history'

yea..the '90s were the time 'alternative' rock bands start to make their way/were pushed into 'mainstream' consciousness.

i was a faithful listener to John Peel's show on the BBC and that's how i got to know of bands like Man...or Astro-man?

College bands like The Blake Babies and No-Wave bands like Sonic Youth played an important role in shaping my 'early' musical leanings.

woot! i'm beginning to like my own thread

i like vintage film cameras too. somehow, i don't see myself collecting 'vintage' digital cameras and using them like, 10,20 years down the road? but it's still a very real possibility with film cameras, provided the film, processing and mechanical parts are still around.

I listen to many types of music. While travelling, I usually listen to those "uhm-zhi uhm-zhi" type of music . At home it is anything types, depending on my mood. The latest CD I bought is JPop, Ayumi Hamasaki's (Miss)Understood. I have yet to find time to really listen to it yet, but it sounds different from her previous few albums.

haha no lah. its a generalization and we all know generalizations arent very generalized. I quite like Cafe Del Mar as well. its just those Crazy Frog type of songs that i cant stand. i mean, its cute for the first 3times of listening, after tt becomes plain annoying for me.

Hey no problem lar. I also hate "Crazy Frog" style songs...really gets on your nerves and whoever invented this Crazy Frog thing should be hung by their toes from the celing and flogged. I also dislike cheesy Euro technodance commonly played by those Ah Bengs in their flashy cars.

I like listening to a wide genre of music too, whatever fits my mood. I mostly listen to quality dance music (trance, progressive, house) sometimes chillout/ambient (agree that Cafe del Mar series is great). I also like jazzy female vocals (no particular favourites), and a dose of New Age/instrumental from time to time (Enya, Chris Spheeris etc). I don't really like most of the mainstream stuff they play on radios nowadays, really too commercialized.

wwooooooah. yor flogging part very siong ah.

but yes those CRAP tunes like the crazy frog, and numa numa CRAP.
dragonstadintea was originally a love song about linden trees by an obscure unknown pop group, IIRC. now its been mixed and jus becus its popular it goes to the box office and walah! you get chicken little crap!

i think there's a video that some overseas people have made; some extremist thing in which they blended a live chick. as in cheep cheep, chick.

they wanted people to stop circulating the Crazy Frog mp3.

Cafe Del Mar is good. very good. fits my mood very often. quality stuff! theres karma lounge, lamb, hotel costes, thievery corporation!!!!!!! that is good!!!!!!

oh and the king of pop...
