Most people stick to one brand because they like how the colours look like. I've only used fuji before and am happy with what it prodices. Another important factor is to get your negs processed at a reputable lab where you can trust them to develop it properly..
Each film brand has its own range of film types suited for different occations. I am also largely new to this field and am still learning much ![]() |

It depends, but as for me using fuji slides I noticed the followings:
1. Fuji Velvia 50: Strong in green 2. Fuji Velvia 100F: Strong in purple 3. Fuji Provia 100F and 400F: Strong in blue 4. Fuji Astia 100F: Strong in yellow |

Well, it is true that different brands of film exhibit distinct characteristics in how they render colours. Basically it's due to the different emulsion and chemistry of the film brands that give that certain colour distinction.
Kodak for example has very good colour saturation and have very vibrant reds/yellows. Fuji on the other hand is known to give 'cool' 'earth' tones like green and blue (This is a generalization, not all kodak/fuji slide films exhibit those characteristics)... Both have different applications and film choice also very much based on the taste of the photographer. You should try out both and see what works well with you. If slides are too expensive, go ahead with the normal negs like Fuji Superia, Kodak Gold...(never Kodak Max...disgusting sia =p). I would say from my own experience that such colour distinctions are not really noticable when using commercial negs, just find the one that works for u.
