Default D200 or 28-70 or 70-200VR or 18-200VR

Hi guys,

I m curious if you guy are using a D70 and wanna upgrade. Which one will u all go fro D200 or 28-70 F2.8 or 70-200vr lens or a 18-200vr lens?

My main photography is group pictures and i wanna take ppl expression. Hence, i was thinking if a 28-70 F2.8 good enough for a walk around lens or 18-200vr will be better? Will a 70-200vr be better?

ic... but can a 18-200vr be use in low light? example in door functions? I m actually quite happy with my D70... but taking it in low light condition is a pain... The ISO is noisy and i need a fast lens... thats why thinking of upgrading some lens..

17-35 would be very aadequate for group shots already. I had a 28-70(been sold ), and its good for walkabout, for group shots just gotta stand further, it not that wide like the 17-35. 28-70 is quite weighty.

I m looking for a lens initially to accomodate my shooting criteria. But the price for the lens can let me get a D200. That why i m considering a body too if the D200 can solve the problem of taking pictures in low light condition, i might just get the body. Instead of a fast lens.

Example:
first setup is : 18-70 kit lens with a D200 body
or 2nd set up is : 28-70 2.8 with a D70 body
last choice : 18-200vr with a D70 body

Well, if datz wat u mean, I think a body is juz a tool w features to enhance ur shootin while itz e lens max aperture dat will aid u in low light situation. And finally it is u e photographer equipped w proper skills n xperience dat will make all shootin condition s simple s they could b.

It's not that well balanced on a D70 body, but good feel on the D2H or D2x, front heavy back light, you know what i mean? just my personal preference.

It was quite unutilsed as I am working overseas so decided to let go. If i were ever to buy another lens it would be the 17-55. good overall, sharp and fast. And the range would be better on the wide side than 28-70. although lose out abit on the tele, would'nt make much difference.

If you use a film body, than 28-70 is

Best choice is D200 + 18-200 VR
The combination of D200 high ISO with manageable noise and the VR of the 18-200 allows pretty low light handheld shots. In addition to that the build in flash is useable on the 18-200 from 18mm 0.5m onwards.

That's my consideration too. But is a 28-70 good enough for sniping from far..? Is 18-200VR a good choice instead of 70-200 for low light condition.

Dear fellow nikonian... pardon me for asking so many questions.

Get 28-70 and 70-200VR, if not good enough, get 300 f/2 and 400 or 500/600... confirm can
