The shots are quite nice but frankly I don't think they show the capability of the 150mm lens. Maybe too many shots and it seems that most of them can be done using the 50-200mm zoom or even the 40-150mm. Can't tell much about a lens at such resolution. Is any of the shots at f2?

This is not a 50-200mm vs 150mm test. noelleong wanted to see samples of the 150mm lens as he owns one too. We were planning to either go to SMU or the Esplanade. Obviously, with the 50-200mm covering the 150mm range, it will be able to do the same. However, having shot quite a few 50-200mm shots, I can say that the 150mm has almost no barrel distortion compared to the 50-200mm. When you move to the higher telephoto range for the 50-200mm, softness creeps in, but is good for portraiture.

And yes, I have decided not to put in many f2 shots though there are some. Strangely, many can tell quite a bit about a lens at this resolution.

Thumbs up Re: Zuiko 300mm Test Shots (Mostly Rubbish)

    Breath taking!

You've got a pair of good eyes for details!

Colour satuaration and distortion free image unmatched by zoom lens. One of the classic demonstration of the excellent quanlity of fixed focal lenth lenses.
