Coleman Creative Design School at Specialist Centre is not bad......the Lecturers there are all working in the graphic designing industry in their day jobs and therefore what you learn is current with the industry now....

I'm from Pte Skools.... it really suxs to the max, all my skills set is not from them because they just don't really teach much or care much. So what if they are from industry, end of the day you will have to learn yourself because you are paying them to give you thinks to experimental/learn. Anyway different schools have different kind of teaching just don't get con will do.

My advise go NAFA or LASALLE SIA.

Yeah, NAFA LaSalle are the most famed. 5 O' Level passes + audition and you are likely to be admitted.

In fact, I still believe the best way to start graphic designing is by self-learning.

Just a note to the threadstarter.

Coleman Creative Design is good. Yes, but at the moment, they've just been aquired by First Media.

Their fees? ... They've jacked it up to a "cool" $20K compared to the $9K in the past.

Seems that they've included some business management / law in the syllabus this time round. Those who sign up for their courses now will be their guinea pigs ...

Another thing is, GD courses would take up QUITE ALOT (not abit) of your time (even though you're part time) and it will eat into your daily routine with many sleepless nights. Make sure you're prepared.

    Woot dude, thats hash man.....

But it's true Creativity cannot be tought, you have to open your mind yourself.
Oh... lastly, this is what one of my part-time lecturer told me about his new intake last time... "Students tot they came here to learn softwares and everything, but design school is not for you to learn softwares tech...." It truth, you don't get to learn adobe or macromedia in a design school it all about self explore and effort yourself. Design school is for people who wants to learn design not applications.

Haa... Actually students ARE coming to learn ONLY softwares. All crap sh*t about exploring your creativity are redundant over there, you have to do WHAT they (lecturers) want or get risk of failing.

hmm somehow i am rather skeptical about these... cos i've known those who graduated from NAFA advert & arts or watever, and said they learnt about photography... and when i pass them a prosumer cam in my studio, they dun even know whats aperture & shutter, wonder what will they do with a DSLR... perhaps i am asking too much...

and somehow, my skills in photoshop seem to be better than them, and i am not even classified as beginner, i am like a neonate in ps...

    Lasalle-SIA ah...i'm a student there XD
But lecturer wise, yes, some lecture just teach because of job. Only few of them really have a passion for it. HOwever mostly all place liddat lah.

my advise would be Lasalle-SIA ( www.lasallesia.edu.sg) or NAFA ( www.nafa.edu.sg ) Depends on your style. Lasalle-Sia more to western style and towards concept than execution. NAFA more to asian style and the beauty of the final product. Thats based on my limited understanding lah.

Hi all, as far as I am concerned, the fees has not been finalised yet but it won't be that high lah . In terms of graphic design, of course you will take up a lot of your time, else how would you learn... hehhehe anyways it depends on the students also if they are really into it, of course they'll put their time and effort into it.

Nyways, I was from a pvt design institution, some of the students don't put in effort even when the teachers put in effort... so it boils down to your determination and effort. No matter which school you go into but if you don't put in effort then bo pian lah .... Nyway just my 2 cents worth
