the captain was slacking in 1st class while the co-pilot was doing pre-flight. i asked if i could hav a word with him and said tt i was very enthu abt planes.(i fly economy though) before leaving for the cockpit i asked if i could experience takeoff in the jumpsit. he agreed. thn i spent the next 6hrs or so till lunch having a crash-course in flight training.

it was a 13hr flight to LAX so over the north pole so i had 2 chances at shooting sun rise/set. SQ1147 boeing 777-300.

Good to know another aviation enthusiast! Check out www.ninervictor.com

Oh, you were on bearing 296... I thought SIN-LAX will take you northeast??

Ya, I know but rather drastic and fuel-inefficient to head in the opposite direction once in a while...

Wish I could sit in the jumpseat....
