Sexy Macs, Grey flavoured Bill Gate PCs, Shiny Xboxes, Whopper TVs sets.....etc...whatever toy you can throw your hard earn money or pocket money on? When you die, you CAN'T take it with you even if they bury the lot with your dead carcass. heh.

But seriously..what is the significant of the thread leh? Glad you can afford them....along with thousands if not more of other fortunately well off folks in Singapore. I am one of them so I am not bitterly envious. By the way, that flat panel TV can feed a tsunami family of four for a very very long time. Lets be thanksful. Very very thankful.

If its a Power Mac G5 Quad processor tower using a 103" Plasma screen. - HARDCORE.

If you're a HT fanatic and frequent hometheatre forums. This is just normal.

Why not? I use a PC for TV as well. Laptop for work, another desktop for processing images and gaming, also to 1 LCD.

As LCDs and plasmas come with multiple inputs, i don't see the point in not sharing the screen with multiple devices.

Checkout the demo set at the iShop at Cineleisure. Same setup, Mac Mini connected to a mega Phillips screen. You can't use the computer from the normal distance, you'll go blind.

Regular TVs (LCD, CRT or plasmas) were never meant to be made like monitors, viewing frm a close distance.

I dun think anyone who's in his/her right mind would treat the TV like a monitor and sit equally close.

if u noticed, the mac mini was meant to be used as a media center. I too watch and record tv on my powerbook and my LCD screen. If I had the $$$, I did get the 2 x 30" and watch TV on it.

1 of the most important is the resolution of any display unit. "BIG" LCD TV can display 640x480 (cheap model) up to 1024x768. I don't recall any that can display resolution higher than 1024x768. Compare to LCD monitor, 24" can display 1900x1200.
Important is not the size ... it's the resolution.

Correct me if I am wrong .....
