Default Dry Cabinets?

Hi there.

Just doing some market research on which brand of dry cabinet is worth getting as I'm rather apprehensive on the various brands available.

Need to get one thats reliable, but not one that'll burn a hole in my pocket. (got many small holes already)

I know that there are brands like AMPRO, VALUE DRY CABINETS, TOYO LIVING, DRY CABI, AKARUI, TROPIC DRY and EUREKA.

Just wish to get some first-hand experience from the owners of the various brands of dry-cabinets listed above before taking the plunge in investing in one.

Kindly state which brand is the most value for money from those listed above.

Thanks.

can only give my experience on Am-Pro as i am using it only

so far quite satisfied on it's performance though there are people comment this is not nice. however i consult the camera sales person, who told me that it's design is better than DigiCab (if i didn't remember wrongly) where their price are almost the same.

however it took me 2-3 days to adjust till correct one to make it always dry till 40-45%... after that just leave it can liao...

How big (in terms of capacity) are you looking at? Your budget? I am and have been using the brand Value for 1.5 years now and they are fine by my standards.

My AM Pro is serving me quite fine, and like Chenwei mentioned, it takes awhile to run it in and get the adjustment right, but after that, it works pretty fine.

don't get tropic dry, quite a number of people have reported problems with the unit after some time. the door hinge does not feel very secure, infact is a bad design.

now it is my ex-drycabi.

I'm using akurai nonw, it is the same price but it is like about 2-3 inch deeper, and the price is the same. it does not have a magnetic door, but other than that it is good so far.

I have a Tropic-Dry for years, mine has no humidity control and the door is rather flimsy....

I'm in the market for a dry-cabinet that can house 4 camera bodies, 4 lenses and all my slides and negatives.

I need one thats pretty reliable, so I don't have to worry too much about getting it replaced in a couple of years.

I've my sights on TOYO LIVING and AKARUI as Cathay Photo is carrying them. Cathay is afterall, a reputable store so I trust the quality and the brand of the products that they carry.

Heard some horror stories about Tropic Dry and AMPRO, so I needed to get more accurate feedback on their products.

Waiting to see if there would be any Christmas sale.
