anyone has the cam here? hows the quality of the pictures?
heard that there is a lot of noise and the colors are "soft", can anyone with this camera verify this? also, how is the manual focusing with the EVF or the LCD? |

ack!!! cant wait to get my S9500! but tat will be a few more months...
the cams feels quite good, with the manual zoom ring and all ![]() btw, has anyone tried taking pictures with long exposures (8 secs or longer)? read somewhere that the S5600 has lots of hot pixel when using slow shutter speed. S9500 has this problem? Last edited by Zaknafein; 16th January 2006 at 05:55 PM. |

For manual focus, adjust the diopter to optimum. Use focus check and turn manual focus ring. You will be able to tell the focus point. Also tried long exposure for about 8 sec. Pic looks good to me but very much depend on the scene. Use a remote release or long timer if possible.

For a prosumer camera, its one of the lowest noise camera avail. Dun compare it to 350D / D50 or other similar priced DSLRs as they belong in the different "park". If you say Fuji colours are soft, I dunno what you will say when you use a Canon Fuji sensor is one of the most advanced film like sensor in the world. Vivid colours of the cam with almost no PP. http://widzz.multiply.com/photos/photo/21/1.jpg was taken by the S9500. ISO 80 30" f/5.6. =bob= |

Depends on what you compare with. The colours will be soft compared to higher-end prosumers like the Sony R1. Noise control is good but the F10/11 are better. Think Fuji may have fared better with the S9500 if they had kept the megapixel count down.
But keeping things in perspective, at this price point you are getting a beaut of a camera that is very versatile, handles very well having a useful weight without bulk. Also looks & handles like an SLR |

i was just clarifying on the S9500 colors being "soft", becos i read user reviews online, and a few said that the colors are soft and not like the typical "Fuji" colors they use to have... i haven seen pic taken with the S9500 that is not photoshopped b4 tats why i cant confirm those claims actually im a Canon A95 user and i notice the colors are soft, thats why my next cam i would like 1 that produces vivid pics ![]() btw is that picture edited? beautifully taken! wats PP as mentioned by b18? i read that keeping the megapixel lower can result in larger individual pixel size, but how does bigger pixel size improves noise in images? |

okay this should be easier
Resolution: 696 x 522 Flash used: No Focal length: 14.0mm (35mm equivalent: 65mm) CCD width: 7.78mm Exposure time: 1.400 s Aperture: f/4.0 ISO equiv.: 800 Exposure bias: 0.67 Whitebalance: Auto Exposure: aperture priority If only the S9500 had the low light ability of the F11 it would be almost perfect... Sorry can't answer about the raw conversion question |

Using RAW you should be able to squeeze more detail from the picture.
