Default Mamiya 645e meter questions

I am a total newbie here, so I apologize in advance if this question has been asked many times! I did a search first and didn't find what I was looking for, though, so I don't think I'll be stepping on anyone's toes!

I just bought a like new Mamiya 645E with 80mm lens. $400US, which seemed like a deal to me. Anyway, the one downside is that there was no manual. I downloaded the 645 Pro manual from Mamiya's site, but there was nothing in it about how to use the meter, so that was worthless (although it explained everything else nicely). Anyway, my question is how to use the built in meter?

I understand that setting it to the red "A" gives aperture-priority auto exposure, which is cool, but after having used a Pentax K1000 forever, I need to know how to do it all manually, too!

When I turn the exposure knob, the number inside the viewfinder also changes to show me what time it's set for. No problem. But, what do the other numbers mean as I change the aperture on the lens? As I turn it, the numbers change, then settle on "LT" that blinks slowly, then "LT" that blinks quickly. Any help would be much appreciated. Just the basics are great, thanks in advance!

Okay, so "LT" means too little light to even meter, got it. Now, the meter jumps all over the place when I'm experimenting, so I guess I have to just sort of figure it out, bracket, etc. I'm also playing with the camera at night in my apartment, so outside during the day, which is where I'll use it 99% of the time, I'm sure it's more consistent. Thanks for the info. For now I have just been using the automatic aperture priority feature. Shot one roll over the weekend and I hope to knock a second one out and then print a few photos on the 19th when the local arts council opens the lab up for us again. I can't wait!
