Default Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Hi guys,

Just got back from a photography trip to cambodia, haven't had time to go thru all my digital images yet but here's one of Angkor Wat at sunrise.

Taken with my good old yashicamat 6x6 MF camera on Kodak 100VS. Colours shifted a little due to my lousy scanning skills + lousy scanner, by right should be able to make out a bit of detail of the temple as well as the water lotus flowers in front.

Hope you guys like it.

Here's another one.. this is sunset from the top of Angkor Wat overlooking the forest with a hot air balloon in the distance for the richer tourists..

This is a stitched up image and is meant to be hung on my studio wall, so the current screen sized image doesn't do much justice to it but oh well...

You can see the bigger image at http://www.studiov.com.sg/TEMP/sunsetfromangkorwebB.jpg

WoW!!! the clouds really look nice... didnt appear that way when I was there, hehe... mine's just a lump of clouds, hehe... here it is

just some updates, someone asked me earlier does the temples of Angkor open early? Yes, at 5am (but their 5am is Spore 6am), so sunrise is ard their 6am+. Do wake up early to catch the sunrise, alot of pple are there setting up their tripods and gears. Make sure you get a good spot on either side of the lotus pond, hehe...

beautiful sunrise! I just wished for a bit more details in the shadows. would've loved to see a bit of Angkor Wat in the early morning. But then i guess that's the DR limit of slides

Actually there are details in the shadows just my scanner can't pick it out coz it's very faint... you should be able to even make out the pink in the flowers in the foreground...

As for the square cropping, yeah I didn't bother to re-crop it from the MF slide.. actually I composed the shot with the square in mind so that's the what I got...

Here's a digital version taken on the same day, same location I think... this is a merged HDR image from 3 exposures... was trying to see if I could get a wee bit of details into the shadows... Can't seem to see it when the pic is so small though

The first picture is really good.
In colors and details.
The pond can see so clearly and also the reflection of the sky.

What settings you used on your MF for that shot?

that's a great shot! i didn't know about CS when i visited Angkor 3-4years back!

Xing-not only setting up tripods but also feeding mozzies at that hour! haha! me and my friend got up at 4.30am, rode the bike there, set everything up, saw the sunrise then went back to our guesthouse for another 2 hour siesta before continuing the sightseeing!

if only i remember which file my snaps are in!

Enivre-any shots of Bayon, the temple where you see the 4faces of the Buddha?

good stuff!
