Borderless printing -- due to printer or software?

For borderless printing, is it due to the printer or software? I'm using an old model Canon S800 that doesn't allow borderless printing. Any way I can make it do so?

Both. The carriage on the printer must be able to enable the head to move beyond the edge of the paper and that the software must allow the over-printing.

Thanks.. Oic.. Hmm, wonder why they didn't have this technology earlier. Hate the white thingy around the paper.
