Hey,
I have rolls of 120 negs that wanna scan onto computer but il requrie a scanner, else it'll be too costly to always go down to the shops to get it scanned rite? Anyway, anyone has any idea on which scanners does a good job for 120 films and yet relatively cheap? Price is also a consideration. Right now, budget still unknown and it all depends if worth buying it. ![]() |

I just bought a Canon 9900F flatbed scanner from a CSer for S$250. It comes with adapters for 35mm, MF and Large Format film scanning. I am generally quite pleased with the scanning of 120 film. It gives 6000X6000 pixels (36 MP) and 16 bit color from 120 film. You end up at max settings with a file size of about 300+MB. Add a bit of sharpening in PS, and you are done. For the price, more than happy with the results. Was told the newer Canons and Epsons are even better.

Currently, for flatbed scanner fr scanning from 35mm to MF to LF, nothing beats the Epson 4990. It's retailing at S$799. I am using one now. No complaints.

Yeah, Thought it seemed really good. But personally just upgraded to digital. Got myself the E-500 therefore might not shoot so much with MF now. Thus, mostly used to scan old negs and the current MF ones that I have.
Thinking of something more feasible or perhaps a second handed one.

Pass them to Kex to scan for you. His machine is a Imacon Flextight, which squeezes out amazing details from your film.

Oh ya, I think they do have the 8400F in the uk. Selling for about £130 including vat. (about S$390) Could you post some images to show the quality of scans? thanks!

this might be completely irrelevant but i have a 35mm film scanner sitting in front of me right now. If you need to scan stuff i can lend it to you for a while. I'm located in london so that might help.
