Default Botanical gardens

Here's the "cheap" sigma 70-300 in action - last week at the botanical gardens.

Portrait of swan

Unretouched 100% crop, not bad for 1/50s shutter speed, at 300mm!

Slightly sharpened

For the price, this lens really deliver the value for money performance! We dun really need good lens to get good pictures. Read from somewhere that more award winning photos were not taken with high-end, high-priced lens!

Well done, nice pics. I had this lens before. Like it has been said, it's the person behind the viewfinder that counts. Was at the Botanics a week ago. Were there some pink water liles as well?

Hi, yes there were a few pink water lilies, but not at the lily pond near the sundial garden (that is closed for renovation.. wish they open soon, that was my favourite place). When you walk in from Holland road and pass the lake (with the swans), there's another small pond with plenty of lilies.
