Default NY2006 Outdoor Shoot

Am going for outdoor shoots near my place where they have NY celebrations by some celebs.
Any recommended settings to use for ISO/WB/Aperture ?

Also, if I'm using flash for such shoots, do I need to use Omnibounce/Lightsphere etc...?
Anyway, I will not be near the stage. Am shooting from a distance using tele-lens.

Advice appreciated!

How powerful is your flash? What ISO can you shoot at?

If you are more than 20m from the stage, I doubt your flash can make very much of a difference, unless it's a hammerhead.

Generally, you should try to shoot at an ISO that allows you a reasonable handheld speed-- at least 1/125 on a long lens. With IS/VR, perhaps you can do 1/30-1/60.

WB is simple-- if you can't predict the lighting, shoot and see what you get, then try until you get it right. Or shoot RAW, and adjust later.
